Home Club Honors Walter Hagen
Walter Hagen, one of the first stars of professional golf, is honored by his home course, the Country Club of Rochester (N.Y.), with a statue unveiling. The news anchors says at the end that Hagen "founded the PGA Tour," which is not true - although he played huge part in bringing out a Profesional Golfers Association tour.

Golfer Catches Bad Guy - Gets Back His Stolen Clubs
Here's an interesting story from the local news. A golfer's clubs are stolen. On a hunch, he checks CraigsList - and finds his stolen clubs listed for sale. He contacts the seller and arranged a meeting. Verifies the clubs are his, calls the cops, the perp is arrested.

Ryuji Imada on Winning the AT&T Classic
Golf Channel interview Adam Barr reminds viewers that Ryuji Imada lost the AT&T Classic in a playoff last year. "That's the stuff that sports legends are made of," he solemnly intones. A little over the top, dontcha think? But don't let that ruin Ryuji's fun. This year he went back and won the tournament in a playoff.

The Local Sports Crew Takes a Lesson
Ah, nothing like a local TV news crew acting goofy during a golf segment. But as Bill Cosby used to say in introducing "Fat Albert" episodes, if you're not careful, you might learn something.
